The Salang highway, connec-tion Kabul with northern Af-ghanistan, was closed for cargo trucks due to heavy snowfall on Sunday morning.
Qazi Obaidullah, the highway maintenance commander, said the 20-30 centimetres of snow struck the area. As a re-sult, the highway was closed for trailers.
Traveling the highway, which is often hit by snowstorms, during the winter is danger-ous, causing deadly acci-dents.
