Sindh govt’s swift action for Sukkur airport expansion

The 42nd E-Kachehri presided by Additional DGCAA (AVM) Timur Iqbal at PCAA, Deputy DGCAA Regulatory, Deputy Director General Airports, and Deputy Director General Works and Development also attended. in collaboration with various key departments, discussed pertinent issues regarding the expansion of Sukkur Airport. DGCAA emphasized that once the Sindh government provides the necessary land, work on the expansion project will commence promptly.

The project includes the construction of a new terminal building and a longer runway to accommodate large aircraft like Boeing 777. Furthermore, it was noted that the project has been approved by the Civil Aviation Authority Board and sent to the Civil Aviation Division for further action. Other topics and queries were also addressed during the meeting, including passengers’ complaints, requests for additional information, and concerns regarding airport facilities.

DGCAA instructed relevant directors to address these issues immediately and provide necessary assistance to passengers. Additionally, inquiries into specific complaints were initiated, and passengers were urged to provide detailed information for swift resolution. The meeting concluded with appreciation for participants and a request for detailed information from complainants to expedite grievance redressal.
