Public-private partnerships will promote tourism on Gorakh Hill, Keenjhar, Indus River, Nangarparkar and the coastal belt of the province, said Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah on Tuesday. Presiding over the meeting of the Department of Culture and Tourism, he said tourism would be promoted through public-private partnership on Gorakh Hill, Keenjhar, Indus River, Nangarparkar and coastal belt of the province. The CS said that the province has a lot of potential in terms of tourism. The meeting was attended by Secretary Culture and Tourism Ghulam Akbar Leghari, Secretary Planning and Development, Secretary Implementation and Coordination and officials of Public Private Partnership Unit of Sindh Government. It was decided in the meeting that a feasibility study of the tourist destinations of the province would be conducted and new tourist destinations of the province would also be identified in collaboration with private institutions. The Chief Secretary directed the Works and Services Department to repair the routes of Rani Kot and Nangarparkar as soon as possible so that the tourists visiting there would not face any difficulty. Briefing the meeting, Secretary Culture and Tourism Ghulam Akbar Leghari said that a feasibility study of Gorakh and Lab-e-Mehran has been carried out. Hotel construction is under consideration. The Chief Secretary Sindh directed to present the feasibility report of Gorakh Hill and Lab Mehran in the next meeting. He directed the officers of Public Private Partnership Unit that tourism is also on the agenda of Public Private Partnership Policy Board.
