The Sindh Assembly has approved a finance bill worth Rs 76 billion. According to the bill, the Excise and Taxation Department will receive Rs 37 billion, the Sindh Revenue Board will receive Rs 22 billion, and the Board of Revenue will receive Rs 17 billion under stamp duties. In addition to the finance bill, the assembly also approved the Sindh budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, amounting to Rs 3.056 trillion. The budget includes Rs 959 billion for development expenditures.
The total expected revenue for the province is Rs 3 trillion, with 62 percent coming from federal transfers and 22 percent from provincial collections.
The budget also includes Rs 22 billion in current capital, Rs 334 billion, and Rs 77 billion for the PSDP. Provincial revenue collections are expected to be Rs 662 billion, including Rs 350 billion from sales tax on services, Rs 269 billion from GST, and Rs 42.9 billion from non-tax revenues.
The assembly has approved Rs 1.9 trillion in current revenue and Rs 184 billion in current capital expenditures.
Additionally, Rs 42 billion has been allocated for debt and other payments, while Rs 142.5 billion has been approved for public investment.
