A group of Indian Sikh pilgrims on Tuesday planted olive saplings to mark launch of a tree planting campaign at Kartarpur.

The pilgrims are on a visit to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib.

They, along with Kartarpur Management Unit Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Latif, began a campaign by planting saplings on the agricultural land.

Sardar Harmindar Singh and Sardar Sarvinder Singh said they were honoured to have an opportunity to plant trees on Baba Guru Nanak’s agricultural land.

Pareet Korr Haryana and Manjit Singh Haryana said it was a great pleasure to plant saplings which would one day grow into big trees.

The CEO said olive saplings had been planted as part of Billion Tree project of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He said 1,000 olive trees were being planted over 10 acre.
