Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, currently held at Adiala Jail, addressed journalists briefly within the courtroom, denying any meeting with former Prime Minister Imran Khan and refuting accusations of receiving 3 crores in relation to NA-56 candidate Shehryar Riaz.Rashid, granted a brief interaction with media, emphasized his innocence regarding the 3 crore claim, stating he possesses proof and expressed confidence in his party’s “Qalam Dawat” symbol winning the election.

Earlier on May 9th, Rashid was presented in court for various cases. His case involving the 3 crore claim was addressed, with the prosecutor’s assistant lawyer criticizing a statement from Sadaqat Abbasi. Simultaneously, a Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court initiated prison trials for 498 accused involved in attacks on military installations.—APP
