Both leaders express good wishes for each other

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended a reception hosted by United States President Joe Biden in honour of the heads of government participating in the United Nations General Assembly session.
President Biden and PM Shehbaz met during the reception. Both the leaders expressed good wishes for each other. The heads of state of other countries also attended the dinner.

Taking to X, the premier said: “My brief meeting with US President Joe Biden @POTUS and First Lady Jill Biden during the President’s reception in New York was most warm and cordial.”
“We reaffirmed our common desire to enhance cooperation in key areas including trade, investment, technology, & climate action,” he added.

This is Premier Shehbaz’s second meeting with President Biden as the previous one was also held at a reception hosted by President Biden for the world leaders participating in the 77th session of the UNGA in 2022.
The reception also saw the participation of heads of state from various countries. The reception, held on the sidelines of the UNGA session, provided an opportunity for leaders to engage in informal discussions and strengthen diplomatic ties.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is among the world leaders attending the UNGA session who were invited by President Biden to a reception in New York. The Prime Minister said his brief meeting with President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden during the reception was most warm and cordial.

The dinner was held Friday night as part of President Biden’s engagements with heads of state and government at the UNGA summit. The meeting was seen as a gesture of goodwill amid ongoing diplomatic discussions between the two countries.
