Commissioner Karachi Syed Hasan Naqvi chaired a meeting at his office to review measures aimed at improving key city roads and public amenities. The meeting focused on Shahrah-e-Faisal, Abdullah Haroon Road, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Shahrah-e-Quaideen, and Shara-e-Millat Road, discussing progress on cleanliness, footpath repairs, road maintenance, and patchwork initiatives. Officials from Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Karachi Development Authority (KDA), Solid Waste Management Board (SWMB), and Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation presented performance reports.

It was decided that all relevant departments will provide progress updates, including photos, in the next meeting. Details of the Shahrah-e-Faisal beautification project were shared during the meeting. According to the KDA, wall construction from the airport to Shahrah-e-Faisal is complete, and 150 murals have been installed out of a total of 250 planned. Work on the remaining murals is ongoing. The project also includes the installation of four smart message displays (SMDs), two of which are operational while work on the others is underway.

Lane marking and two zebra crossings have been completed, with additional zebra crossings planned. The Solid Waste Management Board was instructed to enhance cleanliness efforts on Shahrah-e-Faisal. A garbage dump near Faran Hotel was identified as a major concern, and immediate removal was ordered. A dedicated cleaning crew has been deployed for the road, and 35 shopkeepers disrupting cleanliness efforts have been issued notices. Commissioner Syed Hasan Naqvi emphasized the government’s commitment to improving the city’s infrastructure and facilities, urging all departments to fulfill their responsibilities.
