LAHORE/PESHAWAR – PTI candidates including Murad Saeed, Azam Swati, Khurram Zeeshan and Sanam Javed challenged rejection of their nomination papers before the tribunals for the upcoming Senate elections.
The PTI candidates Murad Saeed, Azam Swati, and Khurram Zeeshan challenged the Election Commission’s decisions through their appeals the election tribunal in Peshawar. Advocate Ali Afridi represented the appellants.
They asked the tribunals to allow participation in the upcoming senate elections.
Azam Swati while talking to the media after filing his appeal criticized the Election Commission for rejecting his nomination papers. He referred to his extensive legislative experience, questioning his disqualification and warning against the potential election of unqualified candidates.
Swati mentioned his lengthy tenure as a senator, pointing out his loyalty to the PTI’s founding principles despite facing repercussions for it.
Likewise, Sanam Javed also challenged rejection of her nomination papers at Lahore’s election tribunal. Javed argued against the decision, and questioned the factual inaccuracies. She said she is eligible to contest the Senate elections. She rejected the discrepancies regarding undeclared property plots and asked the tribunal to validate her nomination.
