KARACHI – Sindh and its provincial capital city Karachi schools will observe a public holiday on Wednesday as nation marks Youm-e-Takbeer on May 28, 2025.

The provincial government announced a public holiday across the southeastern region on Wednesday, May 28, in observance of Youm-e-Takbeer. An official notification said government and private institutions in Sindh will remain closed on this day. The decision aims to honor the historic achievement and promote national pride.

In line with Youm-e-Takbeer, Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) also announced that it will be closed on May 28, observing the national holiday.

Youm-e-Takbeer marks day when Pakistan successfully conducted its nuclear tests in 1998, affirming its position as a nuclear power. The holiday serves as a reminder of the country’s strength and resilience.

Residents of Sindh are encouraged to observe the day with appropriate celebrations and reflections on the country’s progress.
