ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court of Pakistan concluded the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) plea challenging the Peshawar High Court’s interim order that revoked the party’s election symbol, the bat.

PTI withdrew its petition during the proceedings, citing a similar case ongoing in the PHC regarding the restoration of the ‘bat’ symbol.

The three-member bench, led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, heard the case. PTI’s counsel, Hamid Khan, highlighted that a parallel petition was under consideration in the Peshawar High Court.

Simultaneously, a two-member PHC bench heard PTI’s plea to instruct the Election Commission to allocate the ‘bat’ symbol. Barrister Gohar Ali Khan anticipated a verdict from PHC by 11 a.m.

The PHC had earlier reinstated the ECP’s decision, stripping PTI of the bat symbol, prompting PTI to approach the Supreme Court. Barrister Gohar Ali Khan expressed confidence in the bat symbol’s restoration, pledging the party’s adherence to the court’s judgment.
