Religious scholars urged to help maintain peace during Muharram

DC Attock Rao Atif Raza and DPO Dr. Ghayas Gul has emphasized upon the religious scholars to play their vital role in maintaining religious harmony across the Attock district. DC Rao Atif said this while chairing meeting of Distt Peace Committee which was held in connection with arrangements for the forth coming Muharram ul Haram.

The meeting was attended by religious scholars belonging to different sects that includes Peer Saadat Ali Shah, Molana Mehmood ul Hassan Tawhidi, Molana Sahir Zaman, Syed Waqar Naqvi, Aftab Hussain Haidri and other memebers of peace committee and other officials officials were present. All the participants condiment the incident that happened in Sweden. Everyone unanimously passed the resolution.

DC said that Islam gives message of peace, love and brotherhood and unity and this message must be promoted from the platform of all mosques and Imambargahs, and role must be played to shun sectarianism, hatred, extremism and terrorism. DPO said, all SOPs in connection with Muharram must be followed and not to violate these SOPs at any cost.

All the members (religious scholars) of Distt Peace Committee assured the DPO of their full cooperation. During the forth coming Muharram-ul-Haram 145 processions will be taken out from 87 imambargah by the mourners which include 29 licensed and 116 traditional processions.
