PWD health workers to provide family planning services

Chairman Standing Committee Ms. Abida Raja chaired the Meeting of Standing Committee at Punjab Assembly here on Thursday.

Secretary Mr. Inayat Ullah Lak,Syeda Maimanat Mohsin (MPA PP-184), Ms. Nasrin Tariq (MPA W-301), Ms. Umul Banin Ali (MPA W-310), Ms. Khadija Umer (MPA W-362), Ms. Zainab Umair (MPA W-323), Ms. Sajida Begum (MPA W-326), Mr. Manan Khan (MPA PP-48), Mian Ijaz Hussain Bhatti (MPA PP-131), Ms. Rabia Ahmed Butt (MPA W-350), Syeda Uzma Qadri (MPA W-354), Secretary Population Welfare Salman Ijaz, Director General Population WelfareMs. Saman Rai, Additional Secretary (Technical) Dr. Nyla Altaf, Director (PME) Dr. Zubda Riaz and Deputy Director (IEC) Muhammad Akhtar Bhattiattended the meeting.

Chairman Standing Committee, Ms. Abida Raja reviewed progress of on-going development projects across Punjab. Secretary PWD gave a detailed briefing on Population Welfare Department’s ongoing activities and achievements.

The Secretary shared that PWD health workers are working, beyond the call of duty, to ensure provision of family planning services at grassroot level. “Efforts are dedicated from headquarter, District Population Welfare Offices, Tehsil Population Welfare Offices and field staff to improve demand and service side interventions.

We are committed to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), set by Union Nations to uplift the living standard of people for Population Welfare”, said the Secretary.
