Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) is the first line of defense against terrorists and the Punjab government is going to further develop this department.

Talking to the media at Sialkot, Dr Firdous said that it is satisfying that the CTD has achieved glorious success against terrorists and foiled their nefarious designs.

The government is committed to ensuring lasting peace for boosting development and investment, she said.

The Special Assistant said the Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has inspected various sections during his visit to the CTD Headquarter Office and inaugurated Counter Violent Extremism (CVE) block and CTD training school.

She said the past government started expensive and flashy projects with loan money to attract voters. These projects are a great burden over the provincial exchequer.

On the other side, PTI is committed to train and educate the youth which is 65 percent of the total population to make it self-reliant, she said.

Dr Firdous said that Punjab is ahead of other provinces in imparting technical education and training to the youth.

The government is working on the skill development of more than 65 percent of youth by launching modern requirement-based programs.

She said that steps are being taken to fully operationalize TEVTA, e-Rozgar and other various institutions for human resource development.

The provision of employment opportunities to the youth abroad and within Pakistan is among the top priorities of the government, she said.

The Special Assistant said the PTI has started different projects to introduce a culture of ease of doing business.

The PTI will form the government in AJK. It is against the democratic norms that opposition cries foul where it has lost and terms election process satisfactory where it has achieved success.

The opposition should realize that its corrupt political narrative will not work anymore and the people have rejected the opposition because of its political support to the Modi regime at the cost of national interest.

The SACM said the opposition should stop playing with national security and honour. The opposition’s India-centric approach is the real cause of its defeat.

The PML-N especially the Sharif family should revisit its support to India as Kashmiris will never trust India’s political facilitators. She said the PML-N has reaped what was sown by Raja Farooq Haider.

The Special Assistant said the election campaign in PP-38 ended at 12.00 midnight last night but the election commission has failed to take action against violations of PML-N.

The PTI was in a position to invite ministers for public meetings but it believes in rule of law and the voters will decide the fate of the candidate, she said.

Dr Firdous said the PML-N has resorted to hooliganism and investors have been assigned polling stations as PML-N is busy buying CNICs of voters.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) should take notice of this purchase of votes.

The PML-N has violated election laws in the PP-38 campaign but no step has been taken by the ECP.

The PTI demand free and fair elections and the ECP is duty-bound to hold a transparent and peaceful election and PTI will extend full support to it in this regard, concluded the SACM.
