DUBAI – The Punjab government and Dubai Sustainable City will ink a memorandum of understanding (MoUs) worth $1 billion at Expo 2020 Dubai this month for mega development projects in Lahore, international media reported.
This was disclosed by Ravi Urban Development Authority (Ruda) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imran Amin while talking to the Khaleej Times.
Terming Expo 2020 Dubai a wonderful event, he said that it offers massive business potential to the countries taking part in it.
“Expo is an excellent platform to connect 190-plus nations at one place. We have very fruitful discussions with local investors and Pakistani diaspora to invest in over $9 billion Ruda project,” Amin said.
He said that Ruda will collaborate with Dubai Sustainable City to develop a similar infrastructure in Lahore for sustainability, adding that the government wanted to replicate the business model of Dubai in Lahore.
In August 2020, Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project which is one of the biggest mega projects being undertaken by the Government.
The project, he said, is instrumental at saving Lahore from unplanned urban development.
