LAHORE – The traffic police in Punjab have launched a crackdown against those driving vehicles without valid license.
It is mandatory, as per the law, to obtain the driving license from the competent authority if you are eligible and meet the requirements.
The minimum age limit for obtain the driving license for car motorcycle, LTV/ commercial vehicles and HTV/ heavy commercial vehicles.
The Section 4 of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1965 provides the details for the minimum age limit for all categories of the driving licenses.
Minimum Age Limit for Car, Motorcycle Driving License
The minimum age limit for car and motorcycle driving license is 18 years. It means a man with minimum age of 18 years can apply for the driving license of this category.
Minimum Age Limit for LTV License
The minimum age limit for obtaining the license for Light Traffic Vehicles (LTV) is 21 years. The applicant seeking to apply for the LTV license must be 21 years old at the time of submitting the application.
Minimum Age Limit for HTV License
The minimum age limit for obtaining the license for Heavy Traffic Vehicles (LTV) is 22 years.
Recently, the caretaker Punjab government announced a whooping increase in fee for the driving licenses.
Previously, the government received Rs550 in wake of fee for motorcycle driving license with five-year validity. Starting from January 16, 2024, citizens of Punjab will have to pay Rs500 every year for the license.
