Programmes prepared for World Tourism Day (WTD) have been given final touches and main event in this connection would be held in historical Shalamar Garden on September 27 with Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar as chief guest.
This was informed by Adviser to CM, Asif Mehmood while chairing a meeting here on Tuesday. Director General PHA Lahore Jawad Ahmed Qureshi, DG Archaeology Ilyas Gill, MD TDCP Tanvir Jabbar and other officials from district administration were also present during the meeting.
Asif Mehmood directed that the theme of WTD this year is ‘Tourism and Rural Development’ and all programmes should reflect this theme. The meeting was informed that encroachments at the front of Shalamar Garden have been removed however few hawkers continue their work on late hours.
