An extraordinary meeting chaired by the IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, the Sindh Police has initiated an extraordinary operation against dacoits in the Kacha area, employing innovative tactics and procedural measures to ensure success. In a meeting attended by DIGs from Sukkur, SSPs from Ghotki, Sukkur, Shikarpur, and Kashmore, Kandhkot, discussions were held regarding the implementation of unconventional operations and intelligence-based actions against dacoits. Each operation’s outcome and success were individually briefed, affirming the operation’s effectiveness. IG Sindh highlighted the importance of collaboration between the police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) to provide technical support for the organized operations against dacoits. He emphasized the need for effective cooperation between the police and CTD to yield fruitful results. Regarding the welfare of police personnel, IG Sindh announced a monthly allowance of Rs. 10,000 for officers posted in the Kacha areas. He ensured that this allowance would be exclusively allocated to officers serving in these regions. The responsibility for the entire process will be overseen by the SSPs. IG Sindh acknowledged the challenges posed by deceiving innocent citizens into Kacha areas through false promises and incentives via social media, such as job offers, business opportunities, relationships, money, and cheap transportation. He stressed the necessity of bringing dacoits and their leaders to justice through effective and credible intelligence. Moreover, IG Sindh directed the establishment of more active and effective police check posts in Kacha areas, along with ensuring thorough patrolling on highways through random snap-checking. He also emphasized the establishment of permanent communication channels with the families of recovered hostages for their safe repatriation. Finally, IG Sindh reiterated the commitment to the people’s trust, assuring them of police support and assistance while closely monitoring those entering Kacha areas from secure zones, taking all possible measures to deter criminal activities.
