ISLAMABAD – Pakistani government gave slight shock to inflation-hit masses as prices of petrol and diesel prices have been increased from January 1, 2024, Wednesday.
A notification shared by Finance Division said, petrol prices increased by Rs0.56 paisa per litre, while high-speed diesel rates will go up by 2.96 per litre. New prices are set at Rs 252.66 per litre for petrol and Rs 258.34 per litre for diesel.

The price adjustments, which aim to manage costs amid fluctuations in the international oil market and domestic economic conditions, came into effect immediately upon the release of the notification.
This price hike follows a decision made in previous fortnight when PML-N government kept the petrol price unchanged at Rs 252.10 per litre.
