PESHAWAR – More rains and gusty winds with isolated heavy falls are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday night and the next two days with occasional gaps.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate most parts of Pakistan, which will strengthen within the next 24 hours. A westerly wave also affects most central/southern parts of the country.
Under these conditions, more rains and gusty winds with isolated heavy falls are expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swabi, Peshawar, Mardan, Hangu, Kurram, Kohat, Waziristan, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan on Sunday night and the next two days with occasional gaps.
Heavy rains may generate flash floods in local nullahs/streams of Galiyat, Manshera, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Buner, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Nowshera, Swabi and Mardan. Downpour may cause urban flooding in low-lying areas of Nowshera and Peshawar.
Peshawar’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 32°C and 34°C on Monday, between 31°C and 33°C on Tuesday, and between 30°C and 32°C on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, rains and gusty winds occurred in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Bannu and Chitral remained the hottest places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. The maximum temperature in Dera Ismail Khan was recorded at 37°C.
In Peshawar, the maximum temperature was recorded at 32°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 79 per cent.
