A middle intensity bomb blast targeting a police van in the outskirts of the provincial metropolis on Friday left at least five people including two cops seriously wounded.
According to Police authorities unknown miscreant targeted a Police mobile in Pir Bala area in the rural area of Peshawar with explosive device that badly damaged the police vehicle leading to serious injuries to two cops and three passerbys.
Some reports say the explosion was carried out with the help of radio controlled device planted on the roadside targeting the law enforcers.
The police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area shifting the victims to the Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar where the medics described their condition as stable.
The Security Forces are also reported to have kicked off operation in the area to hunt those responsible for the Friday’s attack on Police as the Police started probe into the incident.
The Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi and Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur have condemned the blast targeting the police force in strong words asking the Hospital authorities to provide best treatment to the injured.
They said such kind of cowardly attacks can not weaken the resolve of the men in uniform to fight against the terrorism and purge the region from terrorists.
