Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Sheikh has said the country was facing gas shortage due to incompetence and failures of federal ministers. “New LNG terminal was needed to meet 1200 MMCFD gas shortage, but it could not be built due to stubbornness of the federal government.” The minister viewed that country was facing severe gas crisis for the third consecutive winter as the federal government has failed to reform the gas sector. The Energy Minister said that shortages have reached new heights due to lack of reforms in the gas sector, adding the problems of domestic and commercial consumers have further aggravated. The federal government has failed to build more gas terminals and the incompetence of federal ministers has cost the national exchequer more than Rs 122 billion in the LNG sector, Imtiaz Shaikh said.
