PEC condemns killing of engineer and spouse

The members of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has condemned brutal murder of the innocent and qualified assistant registrar of PEC Engineer Asim Lang and his wife Rida-e- Noor in a heinous attack.

At a press conference, members of the Pakistan Engineering Council’s management committee, members of the governing body, the Chairman and members of the Contractor Association of Pakistan, and the management of PEC expressed deep sorrow and condemnation for the heinous act.

Engineer Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah, Chairman of the Contractor Association of Pakistan, and members of CAP, especially Engineer Sikandar Hayat Khattak, showed solidarity with the deceased’s family members. The participants have demanded from the officials of the relevant federal institutions that this incident should be fully investigated and the murderers should be immediately arrested and punished.

Participants in the press conference included Engineer IjazHussain Ansari voice chairman of PEC, Engineer ZahidArif former vice chairman of PEC, Engineer Azhar Islam, Engineer Dr. SamreenHussain, Engineer Imran Khan Cheema, Engineer KhadimHussainBhati, Engineer Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad Sheikh and Muhammad MuqarabIqbal. All participants strongly condemned the incident.

After the press conference, employees of the Pakistan Engineering Council, the Young Engineer’s Association of Pakistan, the Contractor Association of Pakistan, and civil society representatives peacefully protested outside the press club. Participants of the protests demanded stern action against perpetrators otherwise, the engineering and civil community would start the countrywide protests.

The entire engineering community and the employees of the Pakistan Engineering Council stand in solidarity with the bereaved families of the deceased. May Allah Almighty grant the departed souls a place in Jannat-ul-Firdaus, and may the grieving families be blessed with patience and strength during this difficult time.
