GILGIT – The Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) government has announced an increase in fee for national and international mountaineers for issuance of permits to climb the world’s second highest peak, K2.
G-B Tourism, Sports, Culture, Archaeology & Museum Department has issued a notification in this regard, stating that the fee for scaling the 8,611 meters peak for individual international climber has been increased to $5,000 during April to September.
The fee for autumn seas (October-November) has been fixed at $2,500 while it would be $1,500 in winter season (December to March).
Furthermore, the fee for foreign climbers’ group has been set as $12,000 for K2 expedition.
The trekking fee for foreign mountaineers has now been fixed at $100 per group. Similarly, the fee for individual has been set as $300 during summer season while it will be $200 for autumn, and $100 for winter.
Fee for Pakistani Climbers
The permit fees for Pakistani climbers has been fixed at Rs100,000 for the summer season while it would be Rs50,000 for autumn, and Rs30,000 for winter.
The fee for a Pakistani group of climbers has been fixed at Rs30,000.
