Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said Pakistan can become a center of economic activities by taking advantage of the geo-economics of the country.
Pakistan Muslim League (N) erected a network of highways and motorways across the country, he added while addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Tuesday. He alleged that no country is ready to invest in Pakistan due to the wrong policies of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The federal minister said that the 21st century is about economic ideology and everyone has to work hard to increase the per capita income. The minister said under the leadership of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, PML-N started China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and we were able to harness 29 billion dollars Chinese investment in different development projects. “Nawaz Sharif launched energy projects in the country during his tenure. Every country wanted to invest in Pakistan in 2018,” he recalled.
Ahsan Iqbal said that after assuming power, PML-N has accelerated the CPEC project. It will prove to be a game changer in the region, he said adding that they are focusing on setting up projects in the country with the support of public sectors.
No work was done in Gwadar port during the last four years, he lamented. Ahsan Iqbal said we have to make collective efforts as to how we can move up the economic ladder. He said it was this vision that transpired in our journey toward the CPEC.
