ISLAMABAD – As Pakistan continues to fight off Covid-19 amid the threat of the Omicron variant, the South Asian country has achieved another milestone in its vaccination drive.
Taking to Twitter, the Ministry of National Health Services on Tuesday said that 2.01 million “record-breaking” vaccine doses were administered in one day.
“The highest single-day vaccine administration was carried out on the 7th of February,” it said in a statement, adding that total vaccine administered till now has reached 187.9 million.

Meanwhile, the US Mission in Pakistan has congratulated the country for administering the record-breaking vaccine doses.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has witnessed a decline in the number of coronavirus cases as it reported 2,799 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, the first time since early January.
According to data shared by National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), at least 37 people lost their lives to the novel disease in the last 24 hours while the national positivity ratio dropped to 5.34 percent.
The overall death toll has now reached 29,553 whereas the number of total cases now surged to 1,465,910.
Pakistan conducted a total of 52,327 tests in the last 24 hours whereas the number of patients in critical care was 1,668.
