ABU DHABI – For many overseas Pakistanis, dealing with land records back home has meant paperwork, delays, and sometimes back-to-back visits to Pakistan, and now that hassle is set to end as Punjab brings its land record services directly to the UAE.
A major new facility has been introduced for Pakistanis living in the United Arab Emirates, allowing them to access Punjab’s land and property records without travelling to Pakistan. Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai have officially launched Punjab Land Record Services in the UAE.
The services have been introduced in collaboration with the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) and are now available at both Pakistani missions.
After launch, both missions have started issuing “Fard”, the official record of land ownership. The new facility means Pakistanis residing in the UAE can now obtain essential Punjab land and property records without making a trip to Pakistan.
For overseas Pakistanis dealing with property matters back home, the development could significantly reduce the time, travel and logistical difficulties involved in accessing official land records.
Pakistani Embassy said the initiative is designed to provide simpler, more transparent and efficient government services, while bringing essential facilities closer to Pakistanis living abroad.
According to the embassy, the introduction of Punjab Land Records Authority services in the UAE forms part of the Government of Pakistan’s broader efforts to improve digital facilitation for overseas Pakistanis and make public services easier to access.
Officials said the initiative is aimed at strengthening access to government services for the Pakistani diaspora and reducing the need for overseas citizens to travel to Pakistan for routine land-record requirements.

Pakistanis seeking to use the facility can contact the Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai through their 24/7 helplines for further information.
They can also visit the respective Pakistani missions during official office hours to obtain information and access the available services.
With the launch of the facility, a key Punjab government service is now available directly to Pakistanis in the UAE, potentially making property and land-record matters considerably easier for thousands of overseas citizens.
