Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani has underscored the need for high level visits and parliamentary exchanges between Norway and Pakistan saying Pakistan highly values its ties with this great Scandinavian country. The Senate chairman expressed these views in a meeting with Ambassador of Norway Kjell-Gurnar Erikson at the Parliament House on Wednesday.
The Senate chairman also expressed his desire to strengthen relations between the two countries in all spheres particularly political, economic and educational fields.
The people-to-people and parliamentary exchanges will help develop understanding on important global and regional developments, said Sanjrani adding the parliamentary friendship groups could play a robust role in bringing two nations closer.
Regarding investment, the Chairman said Norway has been a promising partner for investment and development cooperation in Pakistan. He stressed the need to enhance trade volume from its current level.
Ambassador Kjell-Gurnar Erikson thanking the chairman of the Upper House of the Parliament of Pakistan said Pakistani diaspora in Norway is playing an active role in the development of Norway. He said that Pakistanis were making a mark in different fields of life. Chairman Senate expressed his well wishes to the Envoy.
