ISLAMABAD – The federal capital police informed the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that they did not have any update about whereabouts of famous lawyer Intizar Hussain Panjotha, the focal person of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan.
IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq was hearing the case regarding recovery of missing lawyer.
The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police, DSP Legal Saji Cheema and others appeared before the court.
The court was informed that there is still no update on Advocate Intizar Panjotha’s whereabouts. The DIG mentioned that letters have been sent to all intelligence agencies and that a Special Investigation Team has been formed for this case.
The court observed that Advocate Mirza Asif stated he returned to Islamabad, not Rawalpindi. In response, the DIG said that CCTV footage showed Intizar Panjotha heading to Rawalpindi, and they had requested to review the CCTV from Rawalpindi.
The court directed the Islamabad police to provide updates on the case after consulting with the Rawalpindi police, stating, “I will keep the case scheduled after Friday.”
