ISLAMABAD – Timings of all schools in Islamabad were revised to keep students safe as the Met office has predicted above normal temperatures in coming days.

The federal educational institutions will now open at 7:30 am and close at 1:00 pm, a top official of the education department told media.

The new schools timings will come into effect immediately, he said, adding that the schedule will be observed until the summer vacations are announced.

Above Normal Temperatures Predicted in Islamabad

Day temperatures are likely to remain 04 to 06°C above normal in Islamabad, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan from 21st to 27th May, the Met Office said in a latest alert.

It said that due to the presence of high pressure in the upper atmospher, heatwave conditions are likely to develop over most parts of the country, especially over Punjab and Sindh from May 21 and likely to convert to severe heatwave conditions from 23rd to 27th May.

Day temperatures are likely to remain 04 to 06°C above normal in Sindh and Punjab from 21st to 23rd and from 06 to 08°C from 23rd to 27th May.
