Nawabzada Akbar Bugti’s grandson among 5 killed in Karachi armed clash

KARACHI – Five people, including the grandson of late tribal leader Nawabzada Akbar Bugti, were killed Iin a violent clash between two groups on Defence’s Khayaban-e-Nishat in Karachi.

The deceased have been identified as Mir Mohsin Bugti, Mir Isa Bugti, Ali Bugti, Fahd Bugti, and Naseebullah. The injured include Mir Ali Haider Bugti and Qaim Ali.

SSP South said the armed clash took place between the Fahd Bugti group and the Ali Haider Bugti group, inflicting causalities on both sides. Both groups belong to the family of Nawabzada Akbar Bugti.

Heavy police and Rangers forces have been deployed outside the emergency department of Karachi’s Jinnah Hospital as a large number of people from both groups have gathered there.

Hospital administration has reported that five bodies were brought to Jinnah Hospital, while two injured individuals were under treatment at a private medical facility.

Police have been deployed to prevent any further clashes, and are conducting procedural investigations.

The bodies of the deceased Fahd Bugti and Naseebullah have been moved from the Jinnah Hospital emergency to the morgue, and the other three bodies have been taken to the morgue at Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, Sindh’s Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has sought details of the incident from the Additional IG Karachi. He stated that no one is above the law and all possible measures will be taken to uphold the rule of law.
