A performance review meeting of Civil Lines and City Divisions convened at the Capital City Police Office, chaired by Lahore Police Chief Bilal SiddiqueKamyana.
CCPO Bilal SiddiqueKamyana attributed the reduction in the provincial capital’s crime rate to the timely intervention of the police, particularly through the ‘15’ helpline. Vigorous measures are being taken against habitual and professional criminals involved in crimes such as robbery, theft, and banditry. The decline in crime is a testament to the continuous hard work and efforts of the police, with expectations of further reducing the crime graph.
CCPO Lahore issued orders to intensify the ongoing crackdown against drug peddlers, emphasizing intelligence-based operations against their bases. Additionally, strict measures were directed against motorcycle theft gangs, with SHOs and SDPOs ensuring prevention with the support of the AVLS system.
Coordinated actions were ordered against habitual thieves, dacoits, and proclaimed offenders, utilizing information technology to apprehend criminal elements. A special squad was proposed to protect early morning traders.
CCPO Lahore instructed SSP (Operations) and SSP (Investigation) to regularly monitor officers’ performance, assigning targets from SPs to SHOs.
Under the policy of zero tolerance, Lahore Police focuses on accused involved in drugs, illegal weapons, street crime, and serious offenses. Citizens were encouraged to report any illegal activity to ‘15’ or the relevant police station.
