ISLAMABAD – A shocking audio leak ignited political controversy in KP, with reports alleging a connection between the ruling political party and “Fitna al-Khawarij”.
Audio recordings of two militant commanders, identified as “Badshah,” reportedly based in Afghanistan, and “Rokati,” allegedly operating in South Waziristan, surfaced online, exposing what is being described as an internal exchange revealing preferential treatment toward a political figure.
In leaked audio, the militants are heard discussing MPA Asif Masood, a member of the ruling party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The conversation allegedly shows unusual instructions to avoid harming or abducting him, and instead treat him differently from others targeted in extortion and kidnapping operations.
The audio further claims that militant commander “Rokati” had initially issued an extortion demand and conducted a search operation involving Asif Masood in South Waziristan. However, according to the recording, an intervention was made by “Badshah,” who is said to be operating from Afghanistan.
In that alleged intervention, “Badshah” reportedly ordered that Asif Masood should not be kidnapped or harmed, stating that he belongs to the ruling political party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and should therefore be allowed to go unharmed. The audio also suggests that Rokati was instructed to apologize for the search operation.
Rokati, in the same recordings, is heard confirming that he did not harm Asif Masood and that he is acting under directives from Afghan-based militant leadership.
The leaked audio triggered intense debate, with some analysts claiming it points to a disturbing overlap between militant networks and political influence in the region. They argue it may indicate that militants perceive certain political figures as “protected,” raising serious questions about governance and security dynamics in the province.
Authorities have not independently verified the authenticity of the audio at this stage, and no official response has yet confirmed or denied the claims made in the recording.
