As India celebrates so-called Minorities Rights Day, today, a Kashmiri vendor was slapped by police during the so-called an anti-encroachment campaign in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
According to Kashmir Media Service, videos of the incident circulated on social media, showing police manhandling the vendor.
In one video, a police officer was seen slapping the Kashmiri young vendor while forcing him into a police van.
The Kashmiri vendor was reportedly charged under Section 151 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
It is worth mentioning here that Minorities Rights Day is celebrated in India every year on Dec 18, but minorities are living in a perpetual state of fear in the country. They are subjected to second class citizens, and the situation of Muslims in disputed Jammu and Kashmir is more pitiable.
Modi regime’s discriminatory policies have pushed Indian minorities to the wall by relentlessly implementing RSS ideology against them. Hindutva narrative is now a dangerously growing trend in world’s so-called largest democracy. Hate crimes against Muslims and other minorities have alarmingly increased in India under Modi.—KMS
