Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Pakistan weather update; isolated rains, gusty winds expected

ISLAMABAD – More rains and gusty winds are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Sunday night and Monday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), light to moderate monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal penetrate the upper/central parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave prevails over the upper parts of the country.

Under these weather conditions, more rains and gusty winds are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Eastern/South Punjab, Upper/central Sindh, Northeast/South Balochistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir on Sunday night.

On Monday, isolated rains are expected in the twin cities, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northeast/South Punjab, Potohar region, Sindh, Northeast/South Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan. Heavy falls may also occur at isolated places during the period. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country.

Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 35-37°C on Monday and Tuesday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 35-37°C on Monday and 36-38°C on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred in Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northeast Balochistan. Hot and humid weather prevailed elsewhere in the country.

Turbat remained the hottest place in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 49°C. Maximum temperature in Dalbandin was recorded at 43°C and Nokkundi at 42°C.

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 96 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 52 per cent.
