Islamabad, Pakistan weather update; widespread rains, scattered heavy falls predicted

ISLAMABAD – Widespread rains with scattered heavy falls and gusty winds are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of Pakistan on Tuesday night and remainder of this week with occasional gaps.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), deep depression currently located over North of Gujrat (India), will likely reach adjoining areas of Pakistan (Eastern Sindh) during the next 24 hours.

Due to this weather system, strong monsoon currents will penetrate the country, especially southern parts. A westerly wave will also likely affect upper parts of the country from 29th August onwards.

Under these conditions, widespread rains are predicted in the twin cities and most parts of Pakistan on Tuesday night and the remaining days of this week with occasional gaps.

Heavy falls with gusty winds/windstorms are also expected at scattered places in Sindh, Punjab and east/south Balochistan during the period.

Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 34-36°C on Wednesday and 33-35°C on Thursday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 33-35°C on Wednesday and 35-37°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, rains with isolated heavy falls occurred in Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, north Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the last 24 hours.
