More intermittent rains are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Wednesday night and Thursday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over the western and upper parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist in the upper parts during the next 12 to 18 hours.
Under these conditions, more intermittent rains are expected in the twin cities, Potohar region, central/upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, north Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Wednesday night and Thursday. Snowfall is expected over the hills.
Snowfall may cause road closures/slippery conditions in Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Murree, Galiyat, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch and Haveli.
There are possibilities of landslides/avalanches in hilly areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Fog is likely to subside in the central/southern parts of Punjab and upper Sindh during the wet spell.
Islamabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 04°C and 06°C on Thursday and between 03°C and 05°C on Friday.
Rawalpindi’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 06°C and 08°C on Thursday and between 05°C and 07°C on Friday.
Meanwhile, rain occurred at scattered places in Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and upper/south Punjab during the last 24 hours. Snowfall occurred over the hills. Cold and partly cloudy weather prevailed elsewhere in the country.

Leh remained the coldest place in the country, where the temperature dropped 06°C below the freezing point. The minimum temperature in Gupis was recorded at -02°C, and in Parachinar at -01°C.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 06°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 93 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature was recorded at 08°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 94 per cent.
