ISLAMABAD – As Pakistan shivers under an intense cold wave, households are facing a double whammy in energy prices.

But there is a silver lining for motorists. Starting January 1, 2026, petrol and diesel prices are expected to ease. Petrol is set to drop by Rs10.60 per litre, falling from Rs263.09 to Rs252.85, while high-speed diesel (HSD) may decrease by Rs8.59 per litre, down from Rs267.80 to Rs259.21. Light diesel oil (LDO) could see a reduction of Rs6.62 per litre, and kerosene oil may go down by Rs8.92 per litre.

These cuts are slated to last for the next fortnight, providing some much-needed relief to drivers and transporters struggling with rising fuel costs, even as households continue to bear the brunt of skyrocketing LPG prices.
