Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of Pakistan on Monday night and the next two days.
Freezing weather is expected in the upper parts, while moderate to dense fog will prevail over the plains.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave prevails over Kashmir and adjoining area and mowing eastwards.
Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in the twin cities and most parts of Pakistan on Monday night. Freezing weather is expected in hilly areas. However, partly cloudy weather with isolated light rain/snow may occur in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas. Moderate to dense fog is expected in Punjab, upper Sindh and the plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Islamabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 05°C and 07°C on Tuesday, between 04°C and 06°C on Wednesday, and between 03°C and 05°C on Thursday.
Rawalpindi’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 05°C and 07°C on Tuesday, between 04°C and 06°C on Wednesday, and between 03°C and 05°C on Thursday.
Meanwhile, mainly cold and dry weather prevailed in most parts of the country during the last 24 hours, while very cold/cloudy in hilly areas. However, light rain/snow occurred in Skardu, Murree and surroundings. Fog prevailed in most districts of Punjab, lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Sindh and Islamabad.

Leh remained the coldest place in the country, where the temperature dropped 10°C below the freezing point. The minimum temperature in Skardu was recorded at -07°C, in Kalam at -06°C, in Astore at -04°C and in Parachinar, Gupis, Quetta and Malam Jabba at -03°C.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 06°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 73 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature was recorded at 06°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 77 per cent.
