The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab has ensured the release of pending educational scholarships worth Rs6 million to 78 students from across the province, following its effective intervention against prolonged administrative delays.
According to details, the affected students had lodged complaints, stating that their scholarships had remained pending for several months due to bureaucratic hurdles in various government departments and educational institutions. The delays were adversely impacting their academic progress.
Taking notice of the complaints, the Ombudsman of Punjab directed the authorities concerned to thoroughly review each case, fix responsibility for undue delays, and ensure the release of scholarships strictly on merit. The office also emphasised the need for transparency and the timely processing of such cases in the future.
In compliance with these directives, the relevant departments re-examined all pending cases, resolved procedural and documentary issues, and subsequently disbursed a total amount of Rs. 6 million to the deserving students.
The beneficiaries thanked the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab for providing timely relief and upholding their right to fair and prompt administrative justice.
