The latest report by the World Steel Association (WSA) indicates that Iran’s steel output rose by 4.1 percent in the first seven months of 2023 as compared to the same period in the previous year. According to the WSA data, Iran produced 18.1 million tons of crude steel in the mentioned seven months.
Iran was ranked eighth among the world’s top steel producers during the first half of 2023, while the country stood in 10th place among the world’s biggest steel producers in the first six months of the previous year. Production of crude steel in Iran reached 16.1 million tons during the mentioned six months, registering a 4.8 percent increase year on year.—Tehran Times
