Investpak Launched To Simplify Investment In Government Securities

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has officially launched InvestPak, a digital investment platform comprising a web portal and mobile application aimed at simplifying investments in government securities for both individual and corporate investors.

Alongside the launch, the central bank unveiled a nationwide media campaign to raise awareness about the platform and encourage greater retail participation in the country’s sovereign debt market.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the SBP headquarters in Karachi, was hosted by SBP Governor Jameel Ahmad and attended by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb as the chief guest. The event was also attended by senior SBP officials, bank presidents, corporate executives, insurance and mutual fund representatives, and other stakeholders from Pakistan’s financial sector.

Senator Aurangzeb praised the SBP for using technology to support the government’s vision of a digitally driven and financially inclusive economy. He said InvestPak would broaden access to secure government investment opportunities by allowing individuals, businesses, and institutions to invest directly through digital channels, making participation in the formal financial system easier and more inclusive.

The finance minister added that a wider investor base would enable banks to devote more resources to private-sector lending, helping stimulate productive economic activity.

Jameel Ahmad described InvestPak as a major step forward in the modernisation of Pakistan’s financial sector. He said the initiative aligns with SBP’s Strategic Vision 2028 and is intended to expand digital, inclusive, and sustainable access to financial services.

He said InvestPak would help create a deeper, more efficient government securities market while opening a new chapter of digital access for investors nationwide. He stressed that public education is essential for the successful adoption of digital financial services. The campaign will promote sovereign investment opportunities through print media, social media platforms, and FM radio.

Jameel Ahmad reaffirmed the SBP’s commitment to improving financial market efficiency through automation, transparency, and adherence to international best practices. He urged financial institutions and investors to support InvestPak as a national initiative aimed at fostering a more inclusive and resilient economy.

The platform is expected to benefit retail investors, women, small savers, businesses, and institutional participants by reducing paperwork, increasing transparency, and allowing investments in government securities from home or the workplace.

It also enables users to manage multiple PKR and IPS accounts across participating financial institutions through a single interface. To help users, the SBP has set up a dedicated InvestPak call centre and integrated online support in the web portal and mobile app.
