In occupied Kashmir, an extraordinary meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi was held in Srinagar with party’s General Secretary, Sheikh Abrar Ahmed in chair.
Members of the Majlis-e-Shoora and other office-bearers of the party participated in the meeting.
Spokesman of Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi after the meeting in a press statement issued in Srinagar said that all the participants of the meeting unanimously elected illegally detained ailing Abdul Samad Inqilabi as the lifetime Chairman of the party.
He pointed out that Abdul Samad Inqilabi most of his life span in Indian prisons in the struggle for freedom and right to self-determination. He said that India tried all tactics of oppression to suppress the voice of the Hurriyat leader but could not break his resolve. —KMS
