SHOWING no regrets whatsoever over its shameful and cunning acts, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs made a failed attempt the other day to discredit disclosures of Brussels based EU Disinfo Lab which brought to fore as to how a vast network of Indian fake media outlets, think tanks and NGOs operated by Srivastava Group and amplified by ANI has remained involved in malicious campaign over the last many years primarily to defame Pakistan. Instead of presenting any solid defence, the Indian external affairs spokesperson as per old and known practice resorted to rhetoric, blowing the trumpet of India being a responsible democracy and shifting the blame on Pakistan.
Fact of the matter is that diabolical mindset of India stands exposed before the world today and it can no longer hoodwink world community by its claims of biggest democracy. What India needs to understand is that Disinfo Lab has nothing to do with Pakistan or any of its organisations rather it is an independent and non-profit European watchdog. Its latest report cannot be overlooked by the world community as it illustrates in graphic detail the web of more than 750 media organisations in 116 countries, over 550 website domain names registered, resurrection of dead people, impersonation of EU institutions and direct control of more than 10 NGOs accredited to UN Human Rights Council, utilised for the purpose of pushing fake news and false Indian propaganda against Pakistan since 2005.
In our opinion what the EU group has exposed is only a tip of the iceberg. We believe there are thousands of other fake accounts on social media that continue to spit venom against Pakistan. We have no doubt in saying that this disinformation campaign cannot be run without backing and patronage of Indian government and its intelligence agency RAW. For too long, India has pretended to be victim of terrorism yet there is a difference between fact and fiction. It is Pakistan that has been victim not only of Indian state terrorism but also of its propaganda campaign globally. The statistics speak for themselves as to which country has rendered more sacrifices in war on terrorism. On its part, Pakistan continued to tell the world about threat faced by it from Indian hybrid warfare yet nobody took seriously our claims. The truth cannot be hidden for long, as scope and extent of fake Indian operations against Pakistan is now very clear for the world to see.
Now along with Disinfo Lab’s revelations, the reports that recently emerged from the UN and the US as to how India is stoking instability and financing terrorism in Pakistan has made our case very strong to unmask with actual facts the real face of India. It is now for our Foreign Office to pursue a proactive policy against Indian propaganda and convey its narrative and stance to every possible forum. Time has come to hold India accountable for its crimes that have turned into a big monster imperilling peace and stability not only of this region but the world at large. Turning a blind eye to these crimes will only embolden BJP government in India to continue manipulating and misusing the international system for its own nefarious designs. The United Nations and the European Union must investigate the abuse of their institutions by India and to prevent this from happening again. The fake NGOs created by India to propagate its mischievous agenda must be disbanded immediately. The conduct of India warrants international sanctions as well as blacklisting by Financial Action Task Force (FATF). Double standards will only undermine the credibility of world institutions. Instead of wasting more time in peddling falsehoods and fake news, India is also advised to better put its own house in order and take care of its own issues be it related to the Covid-19, poverty, grave human rights violations, exploitation of minority rights ad rising radicalism.
