Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred four more youth in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, today, raising the toll to six during the past 24 hours.
The youth were martyred by the troops during a violent cordon and search operation in Surankote area of the district. The operation was launched by the Indian army on Monday and was in progress till last reports came in.
On Monday, the troops had martyred two youth during the operation in the general area of Poonch district. Indian troops arrested four youth in Budgam district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The troops arrested the youth during cordon and search operation in the Beerwah area of the district.
Meanwhile, Indian police attached Shopian Station House Officer (SHO) Ghulam Jeelani Butt to Range Police Headquarter (RPHQ) Islamabad, pending an inquiry on regard of attack on non-Kashmiri person in Shopian.
“In view of the incident occurred on 13-7-2023 at Gagren Shopian, Inspector Gh Jeelani Butt (AWP) is attached to RPHQ Islamabad pending inquiry,” read an order issued by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police south Kashmir range, Rayees Mohammad Butt. “This order shall have immediate effect,” the order added.
On July 13 evening, three non Kashmiri labourers hailing from Bihar, India were shot at and injured in an attack in Shopian district.—KMS
