RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and Director General of ISPR Lt Gen Ahmad Sharif was seen at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday, attending Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings.

The much-anticipated PSL, which had faced postponement due to heightened regional tensions following recent Indian aggression, successfully resumed this weekend, bringing excitement back to cricket fans in Pakistan.

General Asim Munir’s presence underlines the importance of sports as a unifying and morale-boosting activity amid tense times, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to hosting major international and domestic events safely.

In the match, Karachi Kings took the field first after winning the toss and set a competitive target of 238 runs for Peshawar Zalmi to chase. The return of the PSL to Rawalpindi marks a positive step towards normalcy in the region’s sporting events despite the challenging geopolitical situation.

Pakistan Super League (PSL) resumes after being paused because of skirmishes between India and Pakistan. The tournament was initially halted on May 8 amid safety concerns. Plans to move the remaining matches to the United Arab Emirates were later canceled.

Instead, all eight remaining games will now take place in Rawalpindi and Lahore. The final is rescheduled for May 25, a week later than originally planned, as organizers focus on ensuring the safety of players and fans while completing the tournament.
