The High Court of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has quashed the illegal detention orders of noted religious leaders, Maulana Abdul Rasheed Dawoodi and Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri, who were booked under draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA), last year.
A two Bench judge of Justice Sanjay Dhar and Justice Rajnesh Oswal on Friday directed the offi-cials to release the two religious clerics. They were arrested in September, last year, and later lodged at Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu.
Maulana Abdul Rasheed Dawoodi is the head of Tehreek-e-Sout-ul Auliya while Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri is a leader of Jamiat Ahle Hadith.—KMS
