IG Sindh, Raffat Mukhtar Raja presided over a meeting on Friday to review the current law and order situation in Larkana and Sukkur, focusing on the upcoming 2024 elections. The Police Action Plan and the Police Code of Conduct for Elections were briefed to ensure enhanced security measures. The discussion also involved consultations with respected community leaders, religious figures, and political stakeholders to improve and make election security initiatives more effective.

During separate briefings, the DIGs of Larkana and Sukkur highlighted that the Police Election Security Plans align with the priorities and suggestions given. These plans not only encompass security monitoring but also involve serious actions from religious, political, and social figures to ensure comprehensive police control over the situation.

The briefing emphasized that not only will the police ranges and their respective district supervisors monitor security matters, but officers and youth under their jurisdiction will also be regularly briefed on security responsibilities. IG Sindh underscored the significance and effectiveness of every officer and youth understanding not only the importance of security responsibilities but also the due performance of all duties.

He reminded police officers that the ethical guidelines for elections must be strictly adhered to, and any deviation should be reported immediately to the Election Commission, with a particular emphasis on not engaging in any misconduct related to the code of conduct.

The conference was attended by officials from the IG Headquarters, AIG Operations, and Administration, while senior officers from districts, including Larkana and Sukkur, participated through the video link.
