The Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications (DEMP) joined hands with the Quaid-e-Azam Mazar Management Board (QMMB) to mark Kashmir Day. The event, held at Quaid-e-Azam Mazar on Friday, featured an intra-school art competition aiming to express solidarity with Kashmir and its people’s quest for freedom. Director General of the Press Information Department, Ms. Erum Tanveer, was honored as the Chief Guest for the ceremony. Various students showcased their artistic talents, offering poignant reflections in support of the oppressed Kashmiri people living under Indian oppression.
Ms. Erum Tanveer commended the significance of such commemorations, acknowledging the efforts of DEMP and QMMB in organizing influential events. She emphasized the importance of raising awareness among the youth, stating that celebrating Kashmir Day provided young minds with an understanding of the ongoing situation in the region.
Ms. Erum Tanveer highlighted the unresolved Kashmir issue, urging adherence to the United Nations resolution for its resolution. She emphasized that the silence of previous generations on the matter contributed to the prolonged struggle, stressing the need for connecting younger generations with their historical roots.
