Sindh Police have implemented stringent security arrangements across the province to ensure public safety during New Year celebrations, according to IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon. Key measures include patrolling, picketing, and snap checking on roads, streets, markets, and public spaces. Police personnel will also be stationed at parks, beaches, major roads, shopping centers, and other recreational sites.
Traffic management plans have been devised to address congestion on roads, and Section 144 has been imposed by the Sindh government to maintain law and order. Citizens are urged to avoid aerial firing, fireworks, riding motorcycles without silencers, and other violations of the law.
“No leniency will be shown to offenders,” warned IG Sindh, adding that public cooperation with law enforcement agencies is crucial. He also appealed to parents and community leaders to guide young people to refrain from engaging in illegal or unethical activities. “Let us work together for a safe and peaceful New Year,” he said.
